Reducing our carbon footprint

In the past seven years we have reduced the Greenhouse Gas Intensity (CO2-e / tonne of paper) from our paper mills by 14%. We achieved this by:
• Reducing our electricity and gas usage
• Converting boilers at two paper mills from coal or oil to gas fired

In addition, 45% of our energy needs are met from renewable sources.


Environmental performance compliance

All Australian Paper sites comply with ISO 14001 for environmental management and we only source fibre from sustainably managed forests certified by FSC and/or PEFC. We are also a member of the Greenhouse Challenge Plus Scheme.
